One day, a large camel was resting peacefully when a little rat spotted him. Feeling brave, the rat grabbed the camel’s rope in its tiny mouth and gave it a tug. To the rat’s surprise, the camel started to walk! The rat, filled with pride, thought, “Wow! Look at me, I’m leading this huge camel!”
The camel, seeing how pleased the little rat was, decided to play along and followed behind the rat. The rat held onto the camel’s hoof with all its might and strutted confidently, thinking, “I’m so powerful that even a giant camel follows me!”
As they walked, the rat’s confidence grew, and he thought he was the most important leader. But then, they came to the edge of a river. The rat froze in fear, staring at the deep water. The camel, amused, said, “Why have you stopped, oh great leader? Go on, lead us across the river.”
The rat, trembling, replied, “Um… I’m just checking how deep it is. It looks pretty dangerous to me.”
The camel, with a smile, stepped into the water and said, “Don’t worry, my little friend. For me, the water is only knee-deep. But for you, it may be a bit tricky!”
Realizing how small he really was compared to the mighty camel, the rat felt embarrassed. He said, “I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have been so proud. I now see that sometimes it’s better to follow those who are stronger and wiser.”
The camel kindly replied, “That’s alright, little one. Come, hop on my back, and I’ll carry you safely across the river.”
The rat gratefully climbed onto the camel’s back, and they crossed the river together.
