Kindness and Betrayal

One frosty winter morning, a kind-hearted farmer was walking through his field when he came across a viper lying on the frozen ground, nearly lifeless from the cold. The farmer knew the danger of the viper’s venom but felt a pang of pity for the creature struggling for survival. “Perhaps kindness will make it change its nature,” he thought, and carefully lifted the snake, tucking it into his coat to keep it warm.

Gradually, the viper revived in the farmer’s warmth, and as soon as it had regained its strength, it sank its fangs into the farmer’s arm without hesitation. Shocked and in agony, the farmer felt the poison spreading through him. With his last breaths, he warned those around him, “Kindness cannot change a heart bent on harm. Be wary of those whose nature remains harmful, despite your goodwill.”

Moral:

Some will never change their true nature, no matter the kindness shown to them. Be wise in offering help and protect yourself from those who may bring harm.
