Long ago, there was a man who believed he could foresee the future by studying the stars. Calling himself an astrologer, he would spend countless nights watching the sky, lost in predictions and mysteries of what lay ahead. Many villagers sought his advice, eager to learn their fate.
One night, while deeply engrossed in his stargazing, he wandered along a path outside the village. His eyes remained fixed on the night sky, so absorbed in his thoughts that he forgot to watch his steps. Suddenly, he stumbled and fell into a muddy pit by the roadside.
Struggling to climb out of the slippery hole, he called out for help. His cries soon brought villagers running, and with effort, they helped pull him to safety. One villager chuckled and remarked, “You claim to see the future in the stars, yet missed the danger at your own feet! Perhaps it’s wiser to pay attention to what’s around you before getting lost in what lies ahead.”
Another added, “If you’re too focused on the distant stars, you’ll miss the real path under your feet.”
The astrologer nodded, humbled by their words. He realized that while it was fine to dream of the future, it was equally important to stay aware of the present.
Moral:
While planning for the future, don’t lose sight of the present. Life is a journey best enjoyed by balancing today’s steps with tomorrow’s dreams.
